Being Present in His Presence

img_2758There is a saying that “Gifts are given, but fruit must be grown.” Fruit takes time to ripen. There is much care involved through the entire process. But once the fruit has reached its final stage all of the care and time given to its growth will seem worth it.

God gives us all gifts. But to use the full potential of these gifts, we must first be able to grow in God and all that He gives us.

Life can be really busy, and it may feel as if you have no time to slow down and be present. But if we rush through life, we will never know the full potential God has in store for each of us.

Being present is extremely difficult for most people. We are always concentrating on all the things that we must accomplish tomorrow when we should be resting at night. We are concerned with our jobs when we should be spending time with our friends and family.

Even if you are physically present with people, that doesn’t mean that you are mentally present with them.

We miss the things that should be most important to us because we are too concerned with the busyness of life.

Each day is a gift from God. The breath you are breathing right now is a gift from Him. Your heartbeat is a gift from Him. Every moment is a gift from Him.

The moment you have right now is the only moment you have. The Lord gave you this moment to experience something special. If you miss out on it, you miss out on Him.

If you take a moment to forget all of the busyness of your life just to be present with the Holy Spirit, you will experience the fruit of being present with Him.

Take time to notice God’s creation. Notice the beauty of the trees and the sky. His fingerprint is on it all.

We forget to notice what is in front of us in this moment. We are so concerned at what the future holds and how to get to our destination quicker that we forget what is given to us right now.

God commands us, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

Being still means being present in His presence. It means actually being aware of the One who adores you. It means being conscious to the fact that God is caring for your fruit. It means taking the time to notice what is in the moment and not how to speed up your present to get to your future.

Find ways to be present and take a hold of today. The Lord gave you this moment for a reason. Take time to find Him and just be present in His presence.

In His amazing love,

Stephanie Steele
