A Stop Sign Doesn’t Mean You Won’t Continue

img_1969When I was first learning how to drive, I always had a problem with stop signs. Simple, right?

Well, I would either forget to stop or stop for to long.

A stop sign means what it says—to stop. But it’s not a continuous stop. You will eventually resume your journey down the road.

It is just for moment that you are to stop and look.

The same thing is true in life.

There will be times where God wants you to just stop and look. A time where you will need to just rest in Him.

Life can get busy. Things can stress you out. Worry can overtake you. And you just forget to stop and breathe.

In Job 37:14 it says to “stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

That seems so hard to do in this busy society.

Everyone is rushing around. There seems to be no time to just stop and rest in this toiling world.

Rest is important. God made a specific day to just rest. It’s important to the soul and the physical body.

Sometimes we just need to be still.

Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God:

The Lord may stop you from accomplishing something because He knows what you need and when you need to do it. Just because you stopped now, it does not mean that you will remained stopped forever. You will start again. You will continue the great plan God has for you. You will go when it is your time.

In His amazing love,

Stephanie Steele

Has there ever been a time when the Lord has made you just stop and be still? What did that feel like?
