Being Different in a One-Track World

img_1979Being different in a world full of similarity is hard. There are fashion trends that everyone has to copy. Social media photos that they have post. And things that our peers want us to do.

But the Lord has called us to be different—to be set apart.

It is hard to go against the grain and do things that may seem odd to others. In Matthew 25:40, it says “as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me [Yeshua (Jesus)].

If you do what is biblically right, people will see. And they will be affected. You will make a impact on someone, even if it is only a single person. Matthew 25:40 says if you do what the Lord asks of you, He notices.

Even if you only impact one person, that is enough for our Lord.

Our prayer should be to be different in this one-track world. We should want to be set apart. To be seen in a different way from others.

We need to ask the Lord daily to change our hearts for His glory. Even when we can’t find any hope in our lives, we should bring out a fire that is burning inside of us. That is a testimony to others.

Changing the world is not what God intends for us to do on our own. It is a link between believers in the Messiah (Christ). Each of us should live a different life to be the light to this world. If we each do this, we will create a chain reaction that will impact this one-track world for the Lord’s glory.

In His amazing love,

Stephanie Steele
