I Don’t Want to Love You

IMG_1218 (2).JPGEvery believer in the Messiah (Christ) has his spirit and his flesh. These two are constantly fighting against each other. Galatians 5:17 states that “the flesh lust against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary one to the other…” The flesh and the spirit are always opposing odds.

This fight is seen in loving others. Our flesh doesn’t want to love anyone. Only ourselves.

Our flesh only wants its desires. It wants what’s best for me. So it doesn’t want to go through the troubles of loving someone else.

Our spirit, on the other hand, wants to please others. It wants to show others God’s love and goodness. So it will gladly love others.

We must ask the Lord daily to let our spirit win the war against our flesh. Without the spirit’s help we will not be able to live and love the way we are called to as our Father’s children.

In His amazing love,

Stephanie Steele
