One of the most wonderful gifts the Lord has provided us is the gift of communication. The spoken word is something that many takes for granted. But is should be something that everyone looks at as an unbelievable gift.
At the Tower of Babel, the spoken word between persons was split. These people were not doing what the Lord wanted of them. They were attempting to build a tower towards Heaven. Yehovah (the Lord) stopped the building process by making the people speak different languages. Each person had to find another that spoke their new language. With these new groups formed, the people traveled to other parts of the earth, replenishing the world which was the Lord’s request for them in the first place.
With all the languages spoke today, which is approximately 6,500 languages, do you realize that most people only speak one of the many? Some speak at least two from a required high school course. That seems ridiculous because communication is a gift Yah (the Lord) allows us.
Now, I’m not saying go and learn all the 6,500 languages, but go and test the waters of a handful. An important language, I believe, is the language of God’s chosen—the Israelites. The majority of the Bible was written in Hebrew, so why not learn a language which is a basis for our faith?
The spoken word is a beautiful thing. With it you are able to communicate with others, make people laugh, and share Yeshua’s (Jesus’s) wonderful word. Why not share God’s Word with others outside your original language?
In His amazing love,
What languages do you speak? Which language would you like to learn?
